A new virtual reality headset from Oculus has been developed to help people play chess with a partner.
The Oculus Rift DK1 is the first piece of hardware that allows gamers to play chess in the virtual world, but there are other ways to play the game without having to sit in a chair.

Make a map.
This is the simplest method.
Just set up your chess board in your living room.
Put your chess pieces on the map, and let your partner make a move.
This way, your virtual chess player is always on top of the chessboard.2.
Put the chess board on the floor.
You can also place the board on a table, but if you’re not comfortable doing that, use the standard game board.3.
Bring your virtual pawns.
If you want your virtual partners to play by themselves, then they should all be placed on the same side of the board.4.
Make your move.
You should move your virtual knight to the same square as your opponent’s rook, and then make your move by moving your rook to the opposite square as the other pawn.5.
Take your virtual opponent to the chess game.
You might want to let your virtual player take his turn on the board before your virtual friend plays his turn.
If you’ve never played chess before, you might want a gamepad to play with, but this is not necessary.
