The chess grandmasters of the world are always in a rush to perform their best.
For a few weeks in the spring, however, the world’s top chess players had no time for such rush.
“The world is changing so quickly that we need to prepare for the changes, to make sure we’re ready for the new and exciting challenges,” Magnus Carlsen, the grandmaster of Norway, said during a recent presentation to the media.
The chess grand master of Norway is Magnus Carlssen, who has been named one of the 20 most influential people in the world in 2018.
On Monday, the Norwegian chess federation announced the winners of the 2018 World Chess Championship and announced that Magnus Carlsson will take the top prize of $4 million, or about $10 million in 2017 dollars.
According to a report in Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, the prize money for the 2018 tournament will be divided among the players from 17 countries and is slated to be announced next week.
A grandmaster’s status was created in 1998 and the prize pool for the World Chess Championships has been divided into four categories, based on the results of a grandmaster tournament: World Champion, World Champion Two, World and World Two.
It is believed that the grandmasters’ status will be changed after the 2018-2019 World Chess Challenge.
Carlsen, 32, is considered the world chess grand champion, after he was beaten by Hikaru Nakamura in a tiebreaker match at the 2018 Chess Olympiad in Zurich.
Carlsen’s opponent was Sergey Karjakin, then of the Russian team.
He won his first major tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The tournament is the second major in his career, following a bronze at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
In September, Carlsen was named the world champion in the 2018 event in St. Petersburg.
Following a strong performance at the Olympics, Carlsensen took the world title for a third time at the World Championships in Moscow, and was the top challenger for the title of world chess champion in 2020.
This is the first time that Carlsen will be in the spotlight in this regard, after the World Cup of Chess in 2021.
For the record, in 2020, Carlsson was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
After the World Championship, Carlson has also been named a world champion by the World Economic Forum.
But the next tournament, the 2019 World Chess Grand Prix in Munich, is on November 18, which was held before the World World Cup in Russia in 2018, and is expected to attract more chess grand masters from all over the world.
And, as is customary, Magnus Carlson also received the grand prize at the end of the 2017-2018 tournament.
Mikhail Kasparov of Russia will be one of those who will take home the gold medal.
While the world was shaken by the terrorist attacks in France in November 2016, the event was still attended by about 4 million people, and there were some 1,200 concerts and events.
At the end, there were more than 2,000 performances.
Since then, the organizers of the World Cups have said that they plan to continue to invest in the events to give the spectators a chance to enjoy the experience.
They said that the new Grand Chess Hall in Zurich is expected by 2019 to attract several hundred thousand people.
In the meantime, chess players from all around the world have started to look forward to the 2019 edition of the Grand Chess Tournament.
